The Canada/China Housing Workshop took place on June 7, 2024 at FSS4007, University of Ottawa, starting at 8:30 AM. Supported by SSHRC, this one-day workshop facilitated dialogue between Canada and China on housing-related issues, with approximately 15 experts, scholars, and policymakers from both countries.

Topics for discussion included housing supply, access, affordability, financing mechanisms, construction methods, geographical distribution, and governmental interventions to address market challenges. Despite differing economic and political landscapes, both countries heavily rely on the private sector for housing production and development for urban infrastructure financing. Through comparative analysis, the workshop explored common challenges, policies, strategies, and successful models.
